Although there are a lot of interesting things you can do with digital photography, I found this task to be slightly annoying. I only joined the ranks of digital photography a little more than a year ago. I am lucky that I can use basic editing software.
The first site that I used to make the magazine cover was easy to use:
www.bighugelabs.com/
It was the second site, www.fototrix.com/, that severely tried my patience. I located it by running a search on image generators. I selected it because it listed "snow globe" as a special effect as part of the description for the site. I knew I had the perfect photo for a snow globe. The first problem that I encountered was the file size of my photo was way to large. After I shrank it and got it uploaded I could not locate a snow globe effect. I'm not sure if I was navigating the sight incorrectly or if what I expected to find is just not there. I finally found a template for a snow globe, but I was unable to add the "snow" into the globe.
If you have a specific alteration in mind and are capable of pulling it off, these image generators are a nice thing to have available. However, I don't know who would have the time to just do it to spice up their blog or webpage on a regular basis.
Cool magazine cover - that site is a great one! :-) Sorry you found the other site frustrating - some sites are definitely better than others!!!
